Filming Blog - Josepha's crib

On October 28, 2020 I started filming my commercial. That same day I was able to start and finish filming. To my surprise it didn't take as long as I expected. But while filming my commercial I found out that it is extra hard with a one year old. Throughout the filming process my baby brother just wouldn't stay still. I had to bribe him multiple times of Elmo, dogs and taking a walk around the neighborhood. When preparing filming, it was a process. But as the director I set the scenes and directed the actors and camera man the way I felt was right. I provided the camera man angles, shots, and movements that I wanted the viewers to see. As for my actors, I took the opportunity that my baby brother was in needed of a shower. After his shower I made sure I got all the scenes I needed with him in his diaper. He was cooperating really well but was very jumpy. In the picture to the left I am showing a shot from the last scene that was filmed. In this scene the baby, which was my baby...

Storyboard for my Aveeno Baby Lotion Commercial

First scene: During this scene there will only be my baby brother's crib with its attached diaper table. On the diaper table there would be the Aveeno baby lotion prompted up. This will be a slow scene showcasing the whole crib with an up close of the lotion.  Second scene: In this scene the lotion will now be set on the floor on top of a baby blanket. The blanket and lotion will seem far and small compared to the crib that will be in the background. This scene will be seen as an wide shot of lotion and the crib in the background.  Third scene: This scene will take place with the individual, my baby brother siting on a blanket on the ground. He will be dressed only in his diapers playing with the bottle of lotion. This will provide the prospective of a one year old playing with what is in sight, such as the lotion.  Fourth scene: The scene will then move from the floor to the changing table. This is where the second individual, my mother enters the commercial. She ...

Research Blog: Commercial Conventions

I am doing an Aveeno Baby daily moisturizing lotion commercial. The audience that would be most interested in this commercial are mothers of  young children, people and babies with eczema, and dry skin. This product may be directed toward babies but it is an overall product, anyone can use it. For example, I myself and my family use this product as a daily lotion. But we didn't learn about it until a year ago. When we started using it on my one year old baby brother. This product is Pediatrician recommended, so it is safe and has been approved. Also, one of its main ingredients is oatmeal. On the bottle it states that it is "fragrance free, paraben free and phthalate free". And mothers everywhere can agree that this product can work wonders on their child's skin.  This is a reality genre of a commercial because this product is being presented as a healthy product to use among babies, which who are very sensitive. Other commercials that display this product usually pre...
