Production Blog - Finally Filming

During my spring break I found myself with a lot of free time. With my free time, I chose to start and finish filming. I didn't end of going to a gym basketball court. So, I worked with what I got. And I believe that my "basketball court" did the job. With the help of editing, I believe everything will be fine. My costumes came in and worked out perfectly. The jerseys were a little big but they were alright. I found filming fun with my siblings. Some would say that producing and directing a movie is stressful. But I enjoyed it. Yes there were many bloopers before we took the final shots. However, instead of thinking they were bloopers. We thought of them as practice shots. When preparing and actually filming, it was a process. Yet as the director I set the scenes and directed the actors and camera the way I felt was right. While everyone was doing their lines; I was the camera man. I provided the angles, shots, and movements that I wanted the viewers to see. I still feel as if I want to make changes to some of the scenes. Such as the scenes with the commentators. I will have to slow or speed some scenes in editing. But it's probably nothing. I hope I enjoy the "movie" as much as I enjoyed filming it.

Research blog: Music Video Conventions

I am doing a one minute music video to the song You've got a friend in me by Randy Newman. As stated in my introduction this is the theme song to the movie Toy Story. The audience that would be most interested in this commercial are people that enjoy Disney movies. Such as family friendly people, children, young adults, adults, the elderly and everyone in between. When I first watched Toy story, I believe it was in the cafeteria of my elementary school and I loved it. There are many productions for instance Toy Story 1, 2, 3, and 4. And in each production the song You've got a friend in me is played as a ritual. When people automatically hear this song they usually assume on the spot Toy Story. This is a friendly and comforting number because this song is interpreting that having a friend that is there for you is superior. In the words of Jim's Poetry, "Your friend will help you and guide you through life when there are tough times. That you will be friends no matter w...

Genre Research: Drama

In this PowerPoint, I described the genre drama. I provided everything common about drama in this PowerPoint. Such as lighting, angles, movement, mis-en-scene and sound. Mis-en-scene means placing on stage in French. Which provides costumes, lighting, acting, makeup, props, and setting. In this PowerPoint I did not work alone. I had a partner and we did amazing with this assignment. We also added in our favorite elements of drama and our least favorite. There are examples of some good drama films included. The elements of drama are the plot, theme, characters etc. These make a drama film good. If one of these elements are missing, it could ruin the film of being a drama film. Drama is a complex genre and is my favorite. It can contain comedy, horror, thrill, action etc. I believe it will forever be great. I think it is possible to prove that there is some type of drama in every film. It can be as little as a penny to as big as the statue of liberty. Drama is a dynamic that cannot...
