Genre Decision Blog : Action

 

The genre I am choosing action. As I was doing the PowerPoint for the genre action. I noticed that this genre requires a lot of attention. That there has to be a good amount of makeup and costumes. I believe my two minute preview would be good enough to be presented under the genre of action. I will use the common lighting: low-key lighting. I will use the common angle: the canted (dutch) angle. A canted angle is a type of camera shot where the camera is set at an angle. With these elements used it will make my film seem more as of an action film. As always there is a hero and villain. The hero will be my brother and I will be the villain. My thirteen year old brother and I to have a basketball battle/game. So, the winner can have the seat as the captain of the whole backyard. The villain and hero will go against each other for the title. This will all happen in my backyard. We own our very own basketball court. It isn't as big as the ordinary basketball court but it is just enough space. I believe with a good amount of editing and participation, this will be a good opening film. This will be a great accomplish for me. I am so excited to work on this project.

The audience that would be most interested in this commercial are people that enjoy Disney movies. Such as family friendly people, children, young adults, adults, the elderly and everyone in between. Genre Research: Drama

  In this PowerPoint, I described the genre drama. I provided everything common about drama in this PowerPoint. Such as lighting, angles, movement, mis-en-scene and sound. Mis-en-scene means placing on stage in French. Which provides costumes, lighting, acting, makeup, props, and setting. In this PowerPoint I did not work alone. I had a partner and we did amazing with this assignment. We also added in our favorite elements of drama and our least favorite. There are examples of some good drama films included. The elements of drama are the plot, theme, characters etc. These make a drama film good. If one of these elements are missing, it could ruin the film of being a drama film. Drama is a complex genre and is my favorite. It can contain comedy, horror, thrill, action etc. I believe it will forever be great.
