Title Research: Iron Man (2008)

The opening sequence had the titles of production crew, director crew, editor. There is a visual editor, costume design, actors and actresses. This is the shortest opening sequence in all my blogs. This opening sequence was one minute and twenty-four seconds. The images shown throughout the opening sequence was the building of the iron man suit. But in sketching; there was different colors of every stuff. Overall, they fit. In the beginning of the sequence there was a black and white photo of the main character. The connotations carried with these images are that the ironman suit takes time to be build. That it is a masterpiece of itself.   The feeling of the genre action comes into place with the music. It is providing the common sounds in action. Such as upbeat, ready to play, rock music in film.  To appeal and attract the right audience the music is playing right then and there when the opening sequence takes place. The music provides a sense of "oh this movie w...

Title Research: The Terminator (1984)

The titles shown in the opening sequence were the production and film crew. The name of the setting and date. The date was 2029 A.D. in Los Angeles. There is a description shown about what is taking place... a battle. The actor's and actress's name are presented. The people in charge of sound, visual, and writing the film are also named.  The images shown are what seemed like an alien invasion. With a huge spaceship flying around and shooting lasers. There is a part where what seem like a tractor driving over a road of dried up skeleton heads. The setting was shown in the dessert, there were cactus.   The connotations these images carry are that war is about to happen. That something is coming to change everything. With the lighting being lowkey and the music being eerie. It demonstrates that the film will be filled with action pack fighting taking place.  The strategies used are the music in the background. The lowkey lighting. The war sounds and up-close view of ...

Title Research: Die Hard

The titles shown in the opening sequence are the Gordon Company Productions. The filming company, actors and actresses. In this opening there is dialogue, and much of the setting taking place. The sequence is eight minutes long. The images shown are an aircraft, bags being unloaded, a restaurant with many people celebrating Christmas and New Years. There is a woman walking with what seems to be a stack of papers. As if she is still at work. Kids playing on the kitchen floor. A business woman talking on the phone with her kids and maid. A man coming from the airport and getting a limo driver etc. These images carry connotations such as traveling to family to celebrate the holidays. From New York to California to celebrate as a family. In opening sequence doesn't show much of action or mystery or thrill. It shows family and a sense of drama coming. The poster of the movie shows more action and thrill than the actual opening scene.  The poster shows more action than the film. S...

Title Research: The Avengers

During the opening scene the titles shown are the Warner Brothers, Fox studios, the film and production crew. The casting crew, and costume designer. The visual person. Basically everyone that help in the process of the film. The opening sequence showed names but no ones face. It was two minutes long. In the opening sequence  the images shown are images from the sky. As if there is a thunderstorm or apocalypses. As if the world is ending.  These images make it seem as if they there is a mystery. That there is destruction that is going to happen.  The opening sequence enforces action with the thunderstorm taking place in the background. And the background music playing eerie sounds and the images giving a sense of mystery and evil. Some strategies used to ensure the film is attracting the right audience are the music and sounds. The images can help also by being kept in low lighting. Which is the common lighting in action films.  Technology has been used effect...

Title Research: Watch the Title Website

On the Watch The Title webpage it shows a variety of  things. In the middle of the page there is a slideshow of titles and their creators, I believe. Just like the art of the title page there is title sequences. There is designers, studios and a search bar. There are social media connections such as twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and their email. When scrolling down, there are interview videos. There are columns of feature films, tv shows, event titles, student projects etc. At the bottom page there is a place where you can place in your email to subscribe. It encourages you to forget the film and watch the title. which is very creative.

Title Research: Art of The Title Website

On the Art Of The Title webpage it shows a variety of  things. I guess today's question of the day is "Will Success Spoil Rock Hunter?" Next to the title there is a 'title sequence'. Which gives recommendations on titles and more on the question of the day. Next to the title sequence is the designers and studios. Which give you names of all studios and designers of titles. There is a search bar. There are social media connections such as twitter, Facebook, and email. When you scroll down there is more titles that you can learn about. This website helps you discover more about titles and the person who came up with it. Turns out I found this website more helpful than the other when learning about titles.

Genre Research: Bad Boys For Life

Bad Boys For Life staring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence is about the wife and son of a Mexican drug lord. That is set to kill all those involved in his trial and imprisonment. When an detective is hurt in the line of duty the big guns are asked for. But the big guns are not use to the idea of working with a team and have to adjust of working with others without getting killed. An element that I have want to use that I see in this movie is the struggles against incredible odds. In this movie there are gun battles and difficult action moves that are happening all at the same time. Yes, there are bullets being thrown around. But in my final task there won't be. There will be basketballs thrown around in place of the bullets. An element that I like in this movie is the plot. With a Mexican drug lord, there are body guards everywhere. So, with them everywhere, they have to make sure that whoever is in their way is taken care of or dead. And that is the goal but it isn't achieved. ...

Genre Research: Wonder Woman 1984

This movie is about Diana Prince who lives quietly among mortals in the vibrant, sleek 1980s. Though she's come into her full powers, she maintains a low profile and performs heroic acts incognito.  But soon, she will have to muster all of her strength, wisdom and courage as she finds herself fighting against Maxwell  lord and the Cheetah, a villainess who possesses superhuman strength and agility. The element that I see in this movie, that I have based my final task on is the villainess. The villainess sees something she wants so she grants her wish. But what she doesn't realize is that her wish came true and it is more than she bargained for. Though she grew to love it and it made her even more jealous of Diana. To win in the fight she uses all her strength and eventually looses. Some elements that this movie had that I liked are its struggles against incredible odds and character development. There was a point in the movie where Maxwell had to much power and granted everyon...

Genre Research: "911"

This TV show series is about emergency responders who must try and balance their lives. With saving those who are at their most vulnerable state and solving problems in their own lives. "The show draws from real-life, high pressure experiences of first responders who regularly face heart-stopping situations. That are often unpredictable, intense and uplifting at the same time. I love the genre action and this TV show series provide a great deal of action. For this show I based my final task on its plot. The plot of this show is the hardships of their day to day life corresponding their work life. In many episodes the problems that arise in their personal life is the problem they have to deal with in their work life. An element that I love in this show is the character development. One or two characters are shown throughout the show as kids and grow into teenagers. Others have growth with how they process the way their job is thrown at them. There is one character known as Buck. Bu...

Genre Decision Blog : Action

The genre I am choosing  action . As I was doing the PowerPoint for the genre action. I noticed that this genre requires a lot of attention. That there has to be a good amount of makeup and costumes. I believe my two minute preview would be good enough to be presented under the genre of action. I will use the common lighting: low-key lighting. I will use the common angle: the canted (dutch) angle. A canted angle is a type of camera shot where the camera is set at an angle. With these elements used it will make my film seem more as of an action film. As always there is a hero and villain. The hero will be my brother and I will be the villain. My thirteen year old brother and I to have a basketball battle/game. So, the winner can have the seat as the captain of the whole backyard. The villain and hero will go against each other for the title. This will all happen in my backyard. We own our very own basketball court. It isn't as big as the ordinary basketball court but it is ju...

Genre Research: Comedy & Action

In these PowerPoints, I described the genre comedy and action. I provided everything common about these genres. Such as lighting, angles, movement, mis-en-scene and sound. Mis-en-scene means placing on stage in French. Which provides costumes, lighting, acting, makeup, props, and setting. In these PowerPoints I did work alone. I also added in my favorite elements of comedy and action. With my least favorite elements also. There are examples of some good comedy and action films included.

Genre Research: Drama

In this PowerPoint, I described the genre drama. I provided everything common about drama in this PowerPoint. Such as lighting, angles, movement, mis-en-scene and sound. Mis-en-scene means placing on stage in French. Which provides costumes, lighting, acting, makeup, props, and setting. In this PowerPoint I did not work alone. I had a partner and we did amazing with this assignment. We also added in our favorite elements of drama and our least favorite. There are examples of some good drama films included. The elements of drama are the plot, theme, characters etc. These make a drama film good. If one of these elements are missing, it could ruin the film of being a drama film. Drama is a complex genre and is my favorite. It can contain comedy, horror, thrill, action etc. I believe it will forever be great. I think it is possible to prove that there is some type of drama in every film. It can be as little as a penny to as big as the statue of liberty. Drama is a dynamic that cannot...

My Pitch

Writing my pitch for this assignment was hard. I didn't know where to begin. But I did know that I wanted the title to be The Rodeo. It was a long thought process. I have a few ideas in mind. Such as having my dad's lawn scaping equipment go head to head. For the title as "captain" of your yard. I would have them appear as if they were talking to each other.  My other idea was to have my thirteen year old brother and I to have a basketball battle/game. So, the winner can have the seat as the captain of the whole backyard. You see, in my backyard we own our very own basketball court. It isn't as big as the ordinary basketball court but it is just enough space. I believe with a good amount of editing and participation, this will be a good opening film. My ideas may not sound as good or make sense much. But I have a feeling that everything will turn out great. The idea I choose to proceed to the next level is... the basketball idea. I believe with this idea more peop...

Starting The Final Task

Hello, as you all may know my name Ludnie Toussaint and I am seventeen years old. My birthday is September 27, 2003. I am in the 11th grade and I am not new to Cambridge. This is my third year participating in the program. I do believe that this program can be difficult at times. But with the right mindset and study nights you can succeed. I am currently in AICE media studies. I am taking this class to redeem my AICE diploma, by the time I graduate Fort Lauderdale High School in the year of 2022. Media studies isn't something I am comfortable with. Though I've seen myself come to love it. I am dealing with and completing it to reach my goal. I am still the class representative of my graduating class and I will be forever grateful for the role.  This new project, I choose to do it alone for many reasons. The main reason being COVID. With it still around and me being high risk because of my asthma; I don't want to risk it. But another reason would be that I enjoy working alon...
